Statements in Excel file format
Standard and Pro plan feature
Statey can email your Xero customer statements as Excel (.xlsx) files — automatically on a schedule, or manually — as well as PDF, or both at once. Xero itself can only email statements as PDFs; many customers (especially larger ones reconciling in spreadsheets) ask for Excel, and with Statey you can simply send it.
The Excel statement is the full statement, not a raw export: your company and customer details, outstanding items, the age analysis with your configured buckets, the detailed activity, and your footer — formatted and ready to open.
Enable the Excel file format for your automated statement runs
Step 1
Open your schedule's 'Settings'.
Step 2
Click on 'Statement Content' from the sub-menu, and select 'an Excel document' under 'General Options' > 'Attach statement as'.
Manually choose Excel file format statements
When sending and downloading statements manually, you can choose between PDF and Excel file formats.
Downloading
After opening an individual customer, you will see both PDF and Excel file options under the 'Download' dropdown.
Sending
When sending statements to an individual customer or a group of customers, you will see both PDF and Excel file options at the bottom of the sending screen that pops up.

FAQ
Can Xero send customer statements in Excel?
Not by email — Xero emails statements as PDF only (Excel is only available as a manual report export). Statey emails true Excel statements, automatically or manually, on Standard and Pro plans.
What's inside the Excel statement?
Everything the PDF has: header with your details, outstanding items, age analysis (with whatever ageing buckets you've configured), activity, and footer.
Can I send both PDF and Excel together?
Yes — attach either or both per schedule, and choose per send when sending manually.
Can I re-download an Excel statement I already sent?
Yes — every sent statement can be re-downloaded from Sent Items in its original format.
